BIBS Student Support Portal
Welcome to the BIBS Chengdu Student Support Portal. This online system is designed to support the EAL and pastoral care processes at BIBS Chengdu. Teachers will be able to generate "early Alerts" on student issues so that they can be addressed in a timely fashion. The system offers resources for teachers to help support their EAL students, as well as classroom and behavior management efforts. It will serve to help gather and analyze data to inform the continued development of our school. The resource section allows access to relevant EAL, pastoral care and counselling polices, guidelines and articles.

As a teacher and/or staff member you are encouraged to submit a student’s name if you think she/he may not be headed for a successful experience at our BIBS Chengdu Campus, and might benefit from assistance and intervention. You are also welcome to freely utilize all resources posted here.
At-risk behavior is defined as a pattern of missing class, sleeping through class, doing poorly on tests and quizzes, displaying anti-social behavior, not turning in assignments, missing work appointments, indicating serious personal or family problems, displaying addictive behaviors, displaying depression, unusual homesickness, or lack of social connection, and/or any form of residential issue in the boarding house, etc.
The Suspected Child Abuse Report Form is to be used when abuse of a child on campus is suspected. In addition to Child Protection Guielines, Bullying and Harrassment guidelines are also available for review and download.
As students' names are submitted, they are automatically assigned as an LOA1 alert except for those cases designated and outlined in the BIBS Pastoral Care Handbook as LOA2 or a crisis case. Please consult the guide for a full description of these types of alerts. Once you fill out the form and click “submit” the form will automatically be sent to the Student Support Center for processing, resolution, and/or record keeping. The Head of Boarding will caseload all boarding students and take the lead on all boarding student concerns.
Why Should I Submit a Concern Alert?:
-
To seek to connect students with school-wide resources (Grade-level coordinator, adviser, counselor, tutor, Head of school, etc.)
-
To give advice and recommendations
-
To show concern and caring
-
To educate for consequences of academic behavior that will not lead to success
-
To document efforts for assessment
Team members will seek to communicate with students in difficulty in a caring, respectful, encouraging manner. This is not a discipline committee
